Is camping available locally? Our chosen site for the event is Kite Hill Farm. Kite Hill Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a traditional farm campsite on the Isle of Wight, offering camping for tents, motorhomes and caravans. Situated in Wootton Bridge Valley, a designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB), the family run campsite is set in 12 acres of fields and meadows. While Kite Hill is a large site, there are limited pitches with electric hook up so book early via email at the site website. Please note the Royal Victoria Yacht Club has no camping facilities.

Are support boats permitted at the event?Support boats are most welcome at the event this year. All support boats must register in advance of the event with the UK RS Tera Class Association and pay the required fees. The fee for Support boats at the Rooster UK RS Tera Nationals - Isle of Wight 2023 is £40 for craft 5m and under and £50 for those over 5m, and this will cover the launch and recovery fees and mooring during the event. Fuel can be arranged with Royal Victoria YC but must be paid for seperately. A refundable deposit of £20 will need to be paid on registration (cash only) for your Support Boat flag which must be flown while on the water. Support boats must register by midnight, Monday 31st July 2023. To make every effort to try and keep our events as environmentally clean as possible, we ask that whenever possible regions/coaches/clubs consider sharing support boats, should you be able to offer a seat on your boat or indeed if a support boat has capacity to offer a space to other sailors please let us know!

Can I moor a yacht at RVYC for the event ?We are very happy to accommodate yachts at RVYC but as we dry at LW - we recommend only bilge/lifting keel boats for long periods of time . All but large fin keel boats can sit happily three hours either side of high water . There’s information on our website for visiting boaters - please click here : https://www.rvyc.org.uk/page/visiting-us Our charges are increasing slightly from 1 April. A short stay will be £7.50 a visit and overnight will be £2.50 per metre. Island Harbour https://www.island-harbour.co.uk/is the the closest marina to us and is a 30 minute bike ride along a bike path or 10 minute bus ride away . There is a bus stop on the main road up the lane from the harbour and any Ryde-bound bus would stop at the top of Fishbourne Lane. RVYC is 10 minutes walk from there .

Will there be social events? Both the UKRSTCA and the RCYC have been hard at work planning our social events around the racing. Danny and his catering team have up with some mouth-watering menus for our social evening meals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings (download the programme below), and be sure of lots of fun and games on the clubhouse lawn.
-
Why is there a limit on numbers?Simply space both shoreside and on the launching areas. With our Class seeing growing numbers at our National events we hope we can accommodate all those wishing to compete - please be sure to enter early to avoid disappointment.
-
How can I check if my sail number placement is correct? The Class sail number placement documents can be found below.
-
Can I change my rig after I have entered? In adherence to the Class ethos, it is not permitted to change your rig choice (Sport to Pro or vice versa) after entry. The only exception to this is when a sailor has transitioned from the Sport to the Pro rig during the season. If this is the case, please contact Marcus at the UKRSTCA at resterasecretary@gmail.com NB: If you have competed a Class recognised event in the Pro rig, you will not be able to enter future events in the Sport rig.
-
When will prize giving be?A frequently asked question that we simply cannot answer. We endeavour to get the prize giving done as soon as we can after racing however we must ensure we wait for all protest hearings to be done to be sure we get the correct results for our sailors. We will always work as quickly as we can!
-
I have entered and now cannot attend - am I entitled to a refund? Our refund policy is clearly stated in the Notice of Race.
