RS Tera Wales Bank Holiday training camp

Celtic Sea Watersports

5 May 2021

Celtic Sea Watersports Centre in Dale, Pembrokeshire welcomed 11 sailors, including 2 guests from the Midlands, for the RS Tera Wales May Bank Holiday training camp.

Saturday morning provided light conditions, so the focus was on spotting gusts and shifts, roll tacking and capsize practise. The lake sailors from the Midlands showcased their greater experience in finding the wind in the light conditions. The wind filled in during the afternoon and allowed coach Jonathan to focus on some race practice.
Sunday was perfect on all accounts, with the sun present all day and a gentle to moderate breeze giving the sailors some excellent sailing conditions, broken only by the hot lunch on the beach in Castlebeach Bay.
The Bank Holiday storm arrived early on Monday, and prevented the planned Feva day, however, it provided time to reflect on the lessons learnt during the weekend and allowed Jonathan to prepare the sailors for the upcoming RS Tera Start of Season Championship at Lymington in 3 weeks time. A massive thank you for Jonathan, Rhys & Max for the training and the generous welcome and loan of Teras to the sailors.
