Felpham Sailing Club RS Tera Open

Felpham Sailing Club
Simon Lomas-Clarke & Richard Bentley

15 May 2023

On Saturday 13th May 39 Teras launched from the Costa Del Felpham for a fabulous day's racing.
The 15 knot North Easterly, offshore wind allowed the race officer to lay a windward mark close to the shore in clear view of the spectators with a long reach across the top of the P shared course.

The Pro fleet started first. With limited tidal influence in the first race the fleet was tightly bunched at the windward mark. Henry Reed worked the shifts into a clear lead to take the win followed by Tristan Harding and then Amelia Hutchinson. After a wind shift to the North Will Stratton-Brown dominated the remaining races after recovering rig failure in race one. Tristan Harding worked hard to keep Will on his game and took second overall from Henry.

Zoe Lomas-Clarke stretched out a good lead in the Sport fleet's first race which she maintained to the end followed by Hannah Yates. Cas Day turned up the after burners and took all three remaining races from Zoe with some very close racing between the two of them all day. Ollie Wilson sailed a consistent series to take third.

Well managed racing, a superb venue and great hospitality in a friendly club is what the sailors and parents love and Felpham Sailing Club delivered.

Thanks to all involved and we look forward to coming back next year!
