Welcome to the RS Tera Eastern region

The Eastern Teras have been an active group in the Tera world for many years. We provide both training and racing in the region within a friendly, like-minded group of sailors and parents. We are very aware that the best way to develop skills is to sail with others. This is not always possible at your local club, so we run a series of open events and coaching opportunities for everyone at a range of Eastern venues. We are a regional centre and we understand that many cannot justify the expense of travelling over the country to attend open events. The Eastern events and training are designed to be in easy reach of the majority of the East Anglian population giving our young sailors the opportunity to have fun and develop their skills.

During the main season we provide a series of 'traveller' events at various clubs in the region. Many of these are on the East coast, such as Brightlingsea and Burnham, but we also visit inland clubs slightly further afield, such as Bough Beech in Kent and Middle Nene in Northamptonshire. Many of the traveller events are known as 'Train and Race' weekends. These provide training for all levels on the Saturday and then optional racing on the Sunday. They are a great way to get started in racing a Tera, as the training helps build confidence and provide the skills for progress into the world of racing, either on the Sunday race day, or even at a National event further down the line.

The racing is very accessible and caters for all abilities in both the Sport and Pro Fleet. Novice racers are well supported, and the prizes are not just for the hotshots. Often the venues we use provide camping facilities, so why not make a weekend of it and join us for an evening get-together and perhaps a drink in the bar for the parents! Please contact us for more information, or even better look at our Events page and come along and meet us. We are a friendly enthusiastic bunch and are keen to embrace new members. We look forward to seeing you soon!
